The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Red Flag Warning for the combined Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles, which is in effect from noon to 10 PM CDT Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * WINDS...For Today, southwest 15 to 20 mph with gust up to 30 mph. Tomorrow, West- southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...For Today, as low as 9 percent in the west. For tomorrow, as low as 7 percent. * TEMPERATURES...For Today, in the upper 80s to lower 90s. For tomorrow, in the upper 90s. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will have the potential to spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * SEVERITY... FUELS (ERC)...70th-89th percentile...4 (out of 5). WEATHER...Elevated...1 (out of 5). FIRE ENVIRONMENT...5 (out of 10).

A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will create favorable weather for rapid fire growth and spread. Avoid activities that promote open flames and sparks.
