Description:
At 618 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles south of
Sterling, moving northeast at 40 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR STERLING.
HAZARD...Baseball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported baseball-sized hail on the
east side of Lawton.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
siding, and vehicles.
Locations impacted include...
Northeastern Lawton, Marlow, Elgin, Sterling, southeastern Lake
Ellsworth, eastern Fort Sill, and Central High.
Instruction:
A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
