...TYPHOON SINLAKU MOVING NORTH-NORTHEAST THROUGH THE NORTHERN CNMI TO THE WEST OF PAGAN... .NEW INFORMATION... None. .AREAS AFFECTED... This local statement provides important information and recommended actions for people in the Northern Marianas. .WATCHES/WARNINGS... A Typhoon Warning continues for Rota, Tinian, Saipan, Alamagan, Pagan, and Agrihan. Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed information about additional hazards. .STORM INFORMATION... At 7 PM ChST...the center of Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) was located near latitude 18.0N...longitude 144.6E. This was about 75 miles west of Pagan, 85 miles west-northwest of Alamagan, 85 miles southwest of Agrihan, and 310 miles north of Guam. Storm motion was north-northeast, 10 degrees, at 7 mph. Storm intensity was 115 mph. .SITUATION OVERVIEW... The eye of Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) is moving north-northeast and has picked up forward speed since early this afternoon, moving at roughly 7 to 9 mph. The eye is currently west of Pagan, well north-northwest of Tinian and Saipan. As Sinlaku moves through the northern CNMI tonight and Friday, it is forecast to curve further to the northeast, passing west, then north of Agrihan through Friday afternoon.
Instruction: 
People should remain in a designated shelter or in a sturdy and reinforced concrete building to ride out the storm as tropical storm force winds are occurring at Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. Due to the size of the storm, the latest forecast has tropical storm force winds continuing over northern Rota waters over the next few hours tonight, and through the very early morning hours Friday for Tinian and Saipan. Even when winds start to decrease, remain indoors until the "all clear" is given. Strong to tropical storm force gusts remain a possibility for the next day or two, especially with any passing shower. Damage to remaining metal roof homes remains possible. Electricity and water will remain unavailable for days and perhaps weeks after the storm passes. Most trees will be snapped or uprooted. Fallen trees may cut off residential areas for days to weeks. Stay indoors during heavy rain and windy conditions associated with Typhoon Sinlaku (04W). The window of time to complete preparations for the protection of life and property has closed. Find shelter to ride out the storm. Remain in a sturdy shelter until the "all clear" is given. Northeasterly tropical storm force winds around 65 mph are expected this evening with typhoon winds around 75 mph possible as Sinlaku passes to the west, and winds shift towards the southeast. The size of the storm and overall storm motion will maintain southeast tropical storm winds through Friday afternoon as Sinlaku continues on its accelerated northward trek after exiting the Marianas later in the week. .COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION...
