...RED FLAG WARNING FOR MOST OF NORTHERN AND PARTS OF SOUTHWESTERN NORTH DAKOTA LATE SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY EVENING... .Warm and dry conditions are expected across North Dakota on Sunday ahead of an approaching cold front. The combination of strong westerly winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph, and low relative humidities of 20 to 25 percent, will produce critical fire weather conditions over most of northern and parts of southwestern North Dakota. Near critical fire weather conditions are expected south of the Red Flag Warning where winds are not forecast to be as strong. The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM CDT /10 AM MDT/ to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * WINDS...West 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * AFFECTED AREA...Northwest, north central, and parts of southwest North Dakota. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control or suppress.
