Description:
At 1202 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles northeast of Murray Town to Penderlea
to 6 miles north of Rowan. Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Torrential rainfall is also
occurring with these storms and may lead to localized
flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Burgaw, Penderlea, White Stocking, Point Caswell, Maple Hill, Murray
Town, Rooks, Malpass Corner, Willard, Currie, Wards Corner, St.
Helena, Atkinson, Watha, and Pender Memorial Hospital.
This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 389 and 404.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Do not
drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
