Description:
At 1130 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Antioch to near Tobermory to near White
Oak to 6 miles southeast of Ammon to near Harrells to near Wallace.
Movement was east at 20 mph as line drops farther south with time.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Torrential rainfall is also
occurring with these storms and may lead to localized
flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Wallace, Burgaw, Elizabethtown, Red Springs, Rowan, St. Pauls,
Penderlea, Point Caswell, Maple Hill, Rex, Bladen Community College,
Shannon, Ashton, Currie, Wards Corner, White Oak, White Stocking,
Smiths, Howellsville, and Duart.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between mile markers 388 and 405.
Interstate 95 in North Carolina between mile markers 23 and 38.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Do not
drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
