At 524 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles north of Newton, or near Conover, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Newton, St. Stephens, Conover, Claremont, Catawba, Lake
Norman State Park, Lookout Shoals Lake, Mountain View, and Lake
Hickory.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
