At 436 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles southwest of Asheboro, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Asheboro, North Carolina Zoo, Ulah, Seagrove, Robbins, Star, Steeds, Harpers Crossroads, and Highfalls. This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 48 and 76.
