Description:
At 348 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northwest of Linwood, or 7 miles west of Lexington, moving east
at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
High Point, Lexington, Thomasville, Linwood, Archdale, Trinity,
Denton, Gordontown, Randleman Regional Reservior Marina, and High
Rock Lake.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 84 and 112.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Strong winds may occur ahead of any rain or lightning. Do not wait
for the sound of thunder before taking cover. SEEK SHELTER
inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
