* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeastern Mecklenburg and northwest Union Counties in North Carolina. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 903 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. Small streams are rising quickly. This additional rain is expected to cause minor flooding along some streams and possibly inundate some roads and bridges with a few inches of water. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Monroe, South and Southeast Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill, Indian Trail, Weddington, Stallings, Unionville, Pineville, Wesley Chapel, Waxhaw, Lake Park, Mineral Springs, Hemby Bridge, Marvin, The Arboretum, Fairview, and Southpark Mall. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
