Description: 
At 556 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Clinton to near Bellmont to near Stockholm. Movement was southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Localized wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph have been observed, as well as cloud to ground lightning. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Mooers Village, Malone Village, Dannemora, Rouses Point, Champlain Village, Chateaugay Village, Plattsburgh International Airport, Burke Village, Brushton, Keeseville, Franklin, Champlain, Bangor, Burke, Black Brook, Saranac, Santa Clara, Grand Isle, St. Albans Town, and South Alburgh. This includes Interstate 87 between mile markers 136 and 175.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near Lake Champlain, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm. Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until these storms pass.
