Expected
Effective:
April 10, 2026 - 11:33pm
Expires:
April 11, 2026 - 3:00pm
Description:
The combination of northwesterly wind gusts up to 25 to 35 mph, minimum relative humidity values between 30 and 35 percent and drying fuels following a period of overnight rain will contribute to an elevated risk for fire spread on Saturday for portions of the Catskills and Hudson Valley. The lowest relative humidity values and strongest winds will occur during the late morning through mid afternoon hours. As a reminder, the annual statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14. No burn permits are issued. Use extra caution if handling any potential ignition sources such as machinery or matches, and ensure to properly extinguish or dispose of cigarette butts. Please refer to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation web site for more information on burn restrictions.
