* WHAT...Heat index values of 95 to 100 expected. * WHERE...Broome, Chemung, Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, and Yates Counties. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The hottest conditions will be in urban valley areas, where heat index values will climb above 95 degrees this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms could provide relief from the heat during the late afternoon and evening.
Instruction: 
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
