...CRITICAL TO EXTREMELY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONTINUE TODAY FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO, AND WEST TEXAS... ...MARGINALLY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THE SACRAMENTO AND CAPITAN MOUNTAINS ON MONDAY... .Windy conditions will continue for the remainder of this afternoon with slow improvements expected after dark. For Monday, winds will remain breezy as today's system departs, but winds will not be as strong as Sunday. Much of the area will see 20-foot winds top out between 15 and 20 MPH with the highest winds expected for the Sacramento and Capitan Mountains. These winds will combine with min RH values in the lower teens; therefore, marginally critical fire weather conditions are expected. Fuel conditions remain very dry with die back. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 055 Texas Fire Weather Zone 055 El Paso County, Fire Weather Zone 056 Texas Fire Weather Zone 056 Hudspeth County, Fire Weather Zone 110 Southwest Mountains/Gila NF/Apache NF/GLZ, Fire Weather Zone 111 Southwest Deserts and Lowlands/Las Cruces BLM/GLZ and Fire Weather Zone 112 South Central Lowlands and Southern Rio Grande Valley/BLM/GLZ. * TIMING...winds increasing after 10 am, and peaking in middle to late afternoon. * WINDS...West 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 85. * EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...4 to 6, Critical. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
