Description: 
At 520 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 16 miles south of Taiban, or 23 miles southeast of Fort Sumner, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Mainly rural areas of East Central De Baca and West Central Roosevelt Counties.

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
