At 545 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles northeast of Elk, or 37 miles southeast of Ruidoso, moving southeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Dunken and Elk.

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce visibility below one quarter mile at times.
