Description:
At 454 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Organ to 7 miles southwest of Mesilla.
Movement was north at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Las Cruces, White Sands Missile Range Headquarters, Jornada Range,
Radium Springs, NMSU Main Campus, Dona Ana, Mesilla, Organ,
Talavera, Portions of Jornada Range, Corralitos, Fort Selden,
Dripping Springs, and Aguirre Springs.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
