At 507 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles southeast of Montoya, or 19 miles southwest of Tucumcari, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Tucumcari and Quay. This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 320 and 329.
