At 1239 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles south of Petaca, or 24 miles west of Taos, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Petaca and La Madera. This includes the following highways... Highway 285 between Mile Markers 356 and 380. Highway 64 between Mile Markers 226 and 242.
