...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM MDT THIS EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY... .Very dry southwesterly winds gusting 25 to 35 mph alongside humidity falling below 15 percent, and 4 to 7 hours of single-digit humidity in the valley areas of Socorro County will yield critical fire weather conditions. This will threaten rapid fire spread from any new sparks this afternoon and early evening. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a Red Flag Warning. * AFFECTED AREA...Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106). * TIMING...From noon today to 7 PM MDT this evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...South winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative humidity as low as 8 to 13 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
