...CRITICAL TO EXTREMELY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONTINUE TODAY FOR SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO, AND WEST TEXAS... ...MARGINALLY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THE SACRAMENTO AND CAPITAN MOUNTAINS ON MONDAY... .Windy conditions will continue for the remainder of this afternoon with slow improvements expected after dark. For Monday, winds will remain breezy as today's system departs, but winds will not be as strong as Sunday. Much of the area will see 20-foot winds top out between 15 and 20 MPH with the highest winds expected for the Sacramento and Capitan Mountains. These winds will combine with min RH values in the lower teens; therefore, marginally critical fire weather conditions are expected. Fuel conditions remain very dry with die back. ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 8 PM MDT MONDAY FOR FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, MARGINALLY CRITICAL WINDS, AND DRY FUELS... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 113 Capitan and Sacramento Mountains/Lincoln NF/LNZ. * TIMING...winds increasing after 10 am, and peaking in middle to late afternoon. * WINDS...West 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph for the rest of today. For Monday, west winds around 20 mph with gusts to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 75 this afternoon. Up to 70 on Monday. * EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...5 to 7, Critical to Extremely Critical for this afternoon. 3 to 4, Marginally critical on Monday. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
