...RED FLAG WARNING FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM MDT SUNDAY FOR MOST OF NM (EXCEPT THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS AND NORTHWEST PLATEAU) DUE TO STRONG WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY... .Southwesterly wind gusts of 45 to 60 mph over a large portion of the area with very low humidity and dry vegetation will create widespread critical fire weather. Localized extremely critical conditions will occur across parts of eastern New Mexico. In addition, lightning activity across northern New Mexico on Sunday will occur with little wetting precipitation, increasing the chances for new fire ignitions. * AREA AND TIMING...Northeast and East Central Plains (Zones 104 and 126), and Northeast and Central Highlands (Zones 123 and 125) Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts from 50 to 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values 10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
