MEXICO AS WELL AS THE SANDIA AND MANZANO MOUNTAINS FROM 10 AM
THROUGH 8 PM FRIDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...
.Strong southwest winds and low humidity return to northeast and
east central New Mexico today. Four to nine hours of single
digit humidity will be present with strong southwesterly winds
gusting between 30 and 40 mph. On Friday, west to southwest winds
increase with gusts up to 50 mph. Additionally, up to six hours of
single digit humidity will be present. Any new fire starts will
be able to spread rapidly.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT Friday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AREA AND TIMING...Sandia and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124) on
Friday from 10 AM through 8 PM MDT.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45
mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values of 10 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
