.Dry and windy conditions will occur across much of central and
northern New Mexico on Wednesday afternoon. The lowest humidities
will focus over central and northeastern New Mexico while the
strongest winds are expected in northern New Mexico. While fuel
moisture remains near normal in portions of western and central
New Mexico, the fast drying of fine fuels may support rapid fire
spread. Wind speeds were the limiting factor that contributed to
only upgrading a portion of the Red Flag Warning on Wednesday.
Windy and dry conditions will continue on Thursday, with critical
conditions most likely across eastern New Mexico.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM MDT Wednesday. A
Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch

mph, with gusts up to 55 mph in the Central Highlands.
