Description:
At 510 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Green Pond, or near West Milford, moving east at
30 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph, half inch hail, and lightning.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Paterson, Wayne, West Milford, Ridgewood, Ramsey, Ringwood, Pompton
Lakes, Hawthorne, Bloomingdale, Fair Lawn, Elmwood Park, Wyckoff,
Little Falls, Oakland, and Woodland Park.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
