The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Friday. The
Fire Weather Watch has been upgraded.
* AFFECTED AREA... Fire weather zones 430, 431, and 437.
* WIND... For the Red Flag Warning, west to northwest winds
gusting 40 to 60 mph. For the Friday Red Flag Warning, west to
southwest winds gusting 25 to 30 mph.
* HUMIDITY... For the Red Flag Warning, 12 to 20 percent. For the
Friday Red Flag Warning, 10 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
