Description: 
At 734 PM CDT/634 PM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms 9 miles east of Whitman, or 17 miles west of Mullen, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Mullen, Whitman, Carr Lake, Hecla, Kelso, and Weir. This includes the following highways... Highway 2 between mile markers 157 and 190. Highway 97 between mile markers 64 and 78.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT/1100 PM MDT/ for north central and west central Nebraska.
