THURSDAY...
...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 8 PM CDT
THURSDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR PORTIONS OF
CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...
* WINDS...For the rest of today, from the south sustained 25 to
35 MPH and gusting up to around 45 MPH. For Thursday, from the
west-northwest sustained 15 to 20 MPH and gusting up to around
30 MPH.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...For the rest of today, as low as 25 to 30
percent. For Thursday, as low as 10 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...For the rest of today's Warning: Although
relative humidity levels will not drop quite as low as they do
during most Red Flag Warnings, the combination of the strong
south winds and the pronounced lack of precipitation in recent
months will nonetheless result in heightened wildfire danger.

are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
