Description: 
The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM CDT /10 AM MDT/ to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...All of western and north central Nebraska. * TIMING...Wednesday morning into the evening. * WINDS...South 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Upper 80s to lower 90s. * LIGHTNING...Dry lightning possible late Wednesday afternoon and evening, especially west of Highway 83. * IMPACTS...Any fire starts may rapidly grow and spread. Gusty, erratic winds will be possible with thunderstorms.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
