At 517 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Belton, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include... Lee's Summit, Raytown, Grandview, Belton, Raymore, Pleasant Hill, Greenwood, Peculiar, Lake Winnebago, Cleveland, and Unity Village. This includes the following highways... Interstate 470 between mile markers 4 and 10. Interstate 49 between mile markers 169 and 180.
