Southern Jackson County in west central Missouri...
Western Johnson County in west central Missouri...
* Until 1045 PM CDT.
* At 942 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Raytown to Paola, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Lee's Summit, Grandview, Belton, Raymore, Harrisonville, Pleasant
Hill, Greenwood, Peculiar, Holden, Lake Lotawana, Garden City, Lake
Winnebago, Lone Jack, Cleveland, Freeman, East Lynne, Kingsville,
Lake Annette, Baldwin Park, and Strasburg.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 470 between mile markers 1 and 8.
Interstate 49 between mile markers 150 and 183.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for east central
Kansas...and west central Missouri.
