* At 1121 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Diamond, or
10 miles southeast of Carthage, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Eastern Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Monett, Granby, Carterville,
Duquesne, Sarcoxie, Pierce City, Duenweg, Diamond, Fidelity, Stotts
City, Wentworth, Avilla, La Russell, Brooklyn Heights, Reeds,
Ritchey, and Atlas.
This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 11 and 39.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 200 AM CDT for southwestern
Missouri.
