...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Missouri...
Chariton River near Prairie Hill affecting Macon and Chariton
Counties.
Thompson River at Trenton affecting Grundy and Livingston Counties.
* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Chariton River near Prairie Hill.
* WHEN...Until Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Fields along the river begin to flood. At
19.0 feet, Farmland and secondary roads in the Chariton River
floodplain are under water. At 20.0 feet, State Highway 129 is
overtopped by flood waters 8 miles north of Salisbury.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:45 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 21.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.0 feet
just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage
early Saturday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.0
feet on 05/24/1995.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
