Chariton River near Prairie Hill affecting Macon and Chariton Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Chariton River near Prairie Hill. * WHEN...Until Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Fields along the river begin to flood. At 19.0 feet, Farmland and secondary roads in the Chariton River floodplain are under water. At 20.0 feet, State Highway 129 is overtopped by flood waters 8 miles north of Salisbury. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 20.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.4 feet this evening.
