Description:
At 615 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that thunderstorms produced
between 2 and 4 inches of rain. While the heavy rain has ended,
runoff will continue to cause flooding across the warning area.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Columbia, Columbia Regional Airport, Rocheport, Midway, Easley,
Murry, Harrisburg and McBaine.
This includes the following State Parks...
Rock Bridge State Park, Finger Lakes State Park and Jewell Cemetery
Historic Site.
This includes Interstate 70 in Missouri between exits 115 and 133.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
