Description:
At 644 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Olive Branch, moving southeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Southaven, Collierville, Germantown, Olive Branch, Hernando, Holly
Springs, Memphis, Byhalia, Mt Pleasant, Lewisburg, Red Banks,
Slayden, Marianna, Piperton, Rossville, Coal Oil Corner, Cayce,
Cockrum, Cedarview, and Watson.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 22 in Mississipppi between mile markers 1 and 28.
Interstate 55 in Mississippi between mile markers 285 and 286.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
northwestern Mississippi.
