Southern Itawamba County in northeastern Mississippi...
Monroe County in northeastern Mississippi...
* Until midnight CDT.
* At 1107 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles northwest of Detroit to near Amory to near
Prairie, moving southeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include...
Amory, Aberdeen, Smithville, Tremont, Prairie, New Salem, New Wren,
Nettleton, Hatley, Gattman, Quincy, Turon, Wise Gap, Wren, Strong,
Muldon, Binford, Sipsey Fork, New Hamilton, and Becker.
This includes Interstate 22 in Mississipppi between mile markers 110
and 117.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
storm shelter or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for northeastern
Mississippi.
