...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON AND FRIDAY...
* AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, Koochiching, Northern Cook and
Lake, North Itasca, Southern Lake, Southern Cook, North Cass,
South Itasca, South Cass, Crow Wing, Northern Aitkin and South
Aitkin.
* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
