...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER... .Warm, dry, and gusty conditions are forecast today over much of central and north-central Minnesota. Southerly winds gusting 25 to 30 mph are forecast this afternoon and early evening and relative humidity will drop below 25 percent over much of Cass County. Wind gusts will end early this evening and relative humidity values will rise above 25 percent by 8 PM. The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, North Cass and South Cass. * WINDS...South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 22 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite could spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
