following rivers in Michigan...Wisconsin...
Menominee River near Florence affecting Florence, Dickinson and
Iron Counties.
...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity for the
following rivers in Michigan...Wisconsin...
Menominee River near Niagara affecting Florence, Marinette,
Dickinson and Menominee Counties.
For the Menominee River...including Florence, Niagara...Minor and
Major flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
This approaches the flood of record.
* WHERE...Menominee River near Niagara.
* WHEN...Until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, The Kingsford and Niagara Parks are
flooded. In Niagara, floodwaters affect Sherman Street and the
former Stora Enso Mill, as well as the United Methodist Church. In
Southern Dickinson County Michigan, water is covering Highway 577,
and a trailer park in the city of Quinnesec is flooded. River Road
in Aurora is covered by floodwaters.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:05 AM CDT Monday the stage was 13.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 11:05 AM CDT Monday was 13.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.5 feet
Wednesday evening.
- Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.2
feet on 04/19/2002.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
