...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Michigan... Sturgeon River near Chassell affecting Baraga and Houghton Counties. Sturgeon River near Alston affecting Baraga and Houghton Counties. Michigamme River near Crystal Falls (Michigamme) affecting Iron County. Michigamme River near Witch Lake affecting Marquette and Dickinson Counties. Michigamme River near Republic affecting Marquette County. .Snow melt and increased reservoir releases will cause the river flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstream from the dam. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Michigamme River near Crystal Falls (Michigamme). * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, 2700 cfs - River exceeds bankfull stage At 8.0 feet, 3700 cfs - River begins to flood additional low lying areas along the river bank * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 9.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday was 9.0 feet. - Forecast...No forecast is available for this location. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 8.0 feet on 04/19/2023. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood
