...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Michigan...
Sturgeon River near Alston affecting Baraga and Houghton Counties.
.Warming temperatures will accelerate snowmelt this week. Flows in
rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels. Rainfall,
potentially heavy at times, could be seen this week, which may
result in rivers rising above the current forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Sturgeon River near Alston.
* WHEN...Until Wednesday, April 22.
* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Additional homes and structures near the
river are impacted and evacuations may be necessary. Water levels
may reach the bottom of Froberg bridge in addition to other
bridges that cross the river
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 7.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 10.9 feet Saturday
evening. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday, April
21.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
10.9 feet on 04/26/1954.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
