...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Michigan... Sturgeon River near Chassell affecting Baraga and Houghton Counties. Sturgeon River near Alston affecting Baraga and Houghton Counties. Paint River at Crystal Falls (Paint) affecting Iron County. Chocolay River near Harvey affecting Marquette County. Sturgeon River near Nahma Junction affecting Delta County. .Heavy rain will fall on a deep primed snowpack leading to the melt increasing. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Sturgeon River near Alston. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Additional homes and structures near the river are impacted and evacuations may be necessary. Water levels may reach the bottom of Froberg bridge in addition to other bridges that cross the river * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:30 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 8.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM EDT Tuesday was 8.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.9 feet Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.9 feet on 04/26/1954. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood
