...The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids MI has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Michigan...
Muskegon River At Evart affecting Osceola County.
Muskegon River at Newaygo affecting Newaygo County.
Muskegon River Near Croton affecting Newaygo County.
Muskegon River at Bridgeton affecting Newaygo County.
.Generally 2-4 inches of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours in the
headwaters areas of the Muskegon River. As this water drains through
the river system, widespread flooding is expected. Additional rounds
of rain over the next several days will continue to make the
flooding situation worse on the Muskegon River.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Muskegon River at Newaygo.
* WHEN...From Tuesday morning until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Flood water begins surrounding cottages
and homes on Sarrell Street in the City of Newaygo. Expect
moderate flooding downstream from the City of Newaygo in the areas
of Anderson Flats and Old Womens Bend in Garfield Township. Felch
Ave near Salmon run Campground and South River Lane become
impassable. In addition, expect moderate flooding in Sycamore
Flats, 100th Ave, and Sugarbush Lane in Ashland Township. Expect
all public river access sites to be closed.
At 15.0 feet, Expect the Bridge Street Bridge in the City of
Newaygo to be closed. Expect major flooding downstream from the
City of Newaygo in the areas of Anderson Flats and Old Women's
Bend in Garfield Township and Sycamore Flats, 100th Ave, and
Sugarbush Lane in Ashland Township. Expect moderate flooding on
Sarrell Street in the City of Newaygo. Expect Flech Ave near the
Anderson Flats area to be closed. Expect all public River Access
Sites to be closed.

- At 9:45 AM EDT Monday the stage was 10.1 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow morning and continue rising to a crest of 14.9
feet early Friday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
15.1 feet on 02/21/2018.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
