Description: 
At 502 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles west of Pineland to Port Neches to 42 miles southeast of Gilchrist. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Port Arthur, Sulphur, Orange, Nederland, Groves, Port Neches, Vidor, Bridge City, Jasper, Cameron, West Orange, Vinton, Newton, Kirbyville, Merryville, Singer, Sabine Pass, Johnsons Bayou, Toledo Bend Dam, and Fields. This includes the following highways... Interstate 10 in Texas between mile markers 880 and 861. Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 25. Interstate 210 near mile marker 1.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
