Description: 
At 600 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from over Benton to 9 miles south of Cotton Valley, or extending from 11 miles north of Bossier City to 11 miles northwest of Minden, moving north at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Springhill, Benton, Cullen, Plain Dealing, Cotton Valley, Sarepta, Rocky Mount, Ivan, Alden Bridge, Linton, Bolinger and Bellevue.
Instruction: 
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. If on or near Cypress Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
