Description:
At 304 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms 9 miles south of Arcadia, or 15 miles southwest of
Grambling, moving southwest at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Ruston, Grambling, Jonesboro, Haughton, Arcadia, Stonewall,
Ringgold, Sibley, Gibsland, Doyline, Dubberly, Heflin, Simsboro,
Martin, Chatham, Hodge and North Hodge.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
