Description: 
At 545 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms capable of producing funnel clouds along a line extending from 7 miles southwest of Franklinton to near Ponchatoula. Movement was northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Funnel clouds, wind gusts up to 40 to 50 mph, and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Hammond, Covington, Franklinton, Ponchatoula, Madisonville, Folsom, Robert, and Enon. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 12 between mile markers 40 and 60. Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 22 and 27.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
