Description: 
At 457 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing funnel clouds and waterspouts over Killona, or near Hahnville, moving north at 25 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts and funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Laplace, Reserve, Hahnville, Killona, Montz, Taft, and Edgard. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 204 and 211. Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 2.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
