Description:
At 359 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Pearlington to 6 miles
southeast of Lacombe to 9 miles northwest of New Orleans. Movement
was east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
New Orleans, Slidell, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, East New Orleans, Lake
Catherine, Pearlington, Shoreline Park, and Lakefront Airport.
This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 242 and 255, and
between mile markers 259 and 273.
Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 8.
Interstate 510 between mile markers 1 and 3.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
